Courtney Frazier was born and raised in Champaign and graduated from Urbana High School. Over time, Courtney discovered a passion for helping people, making her current job as a Direct Services Professional with the Developmental Services Center in Champaign such a great fit for her.
In her free time, Courtney loves to read and she enjoys doing arts and crafts. More than anything, Courtney, loves spending time and traveling with her 12 year old son, who is currently a “very mature and respectful” 6th grader at Franklin Middle School. When asked what Courtney most hopes her son will learn from this experience, she says “I want him to know that anything is possible. Have faith and determination!”
Courtney learned about the Habitat for Humanity program from her mom, who herself has been a Habitat homeowner since 2008, and she hopes that her new home will give her and her son some (much-needed) stability and comfort. “I will be so much less stressed and I can see myself pursuing the nursing field and elevating myself. I think that this is going to be life changing for my son and I.” says Courtney.
For Courtney, the most enjoyable part of her Habitat experience so far has been meeting new people, and making friends with the Habitat staff, volunteers, and other Habitat families. “I am making new friends with the people who are helping make my dreams comes true….I am very appreciative and I promise to make everyone proud!”
