Ebonie Williams was born and raised in Champaign. She has two children a 12 year old son and a 6 year old daughter. She is currently a full time student at Ashford University and a full time Teaching Assistant at Head Start in Champaign County. Her kids both attend Champaign Schools and with the lot Ebonie chose they will be able to continue their educations in their current learning environments.
“My son enjoys video games and drawing. He has always wanted to paint and stencil his own room. My daughter enjoys art as well and loves to be creative with writing and painting. It will be a joyful opportunity to be able to let them design their rooms, and for them to have space for their imaginations to grow.”
“I love interior decorating, and I can’t wait to be able to do what I want this the house, and to be able to say that it is mine!”
“I have always dreamed of owning my own home and I told myself I need to start preparing for my families future. Being a part of Habitat for Humanity is giving me a hand up in doing so. I am so excited to be a strong leader and role model for my children and to make such a positive difference in their lives. I am looking forward to beginning this new chapter in our lives.”
The Williams family home will be the 67th home built by Habitat for Humanity of Champaign County, and is being constructed in partnership with the Windsor Road Christian Church.
