Jones Family

Home #142

Tezriyona Jones has called Champaign home her entire life. Growing up in the community, she has taken advantage of the opportunities it provides. She graduated from Centennial High School and currently works at OSF Heart of Mary Medical Center where she has spent nearly 5 years as an Environmental Services Technician

Outside of work, Tezriyona enjoys winding down with a good book or binge-watching her favorite shows with her kids. She is a proud mother of 3 – two boys and one girl – each with their own unique personality. Her oldest son is 14 and is very athletic and determined. Her middle child, and 8-year-old boy, has a love for numbers and games. Tezriyona describes her youngest, a 6-year-old girl, as artistic and loves everything girly from makeup to shopping.

Tezriyona first learned about Habitat for Humanity through family members and her own research. What inspired her to apply was a dream of owning a stable, long-term home where she doesn’t have to worry about rent increasing. “I’ll be able to make memories in a home that’s ours,” she says.

Throughout the Habitat journey, Tezriyona has found value in being a part of something bigger. She wanted her children to witness the building process, not only to understand how homes come together but to recognize the power of gratitude, hard work, and community. She shared that it’s important to have opportunities like this because it can save so many families from wondering what their next move is. Her favorite part of the experience so far has been working with the friendly and helpful Habitat team.

To the partners, volunteers, and organizations helping to build her home, Tezriyona offers a heartfelt thank you. “I want to thank Habitat in advance for the opportunity that they have given me and my kids. I appreciate you guys so much!”
