Saturday, September 26th
Raise the Woof! is a competitive dog house building event, benefiting Habitat for Humanity of Champaign County. Friends, families, businesses, and local organizations come together to build their best version of a dog house, in the process supporting the creation of affordable housing in Champaign County.
Due to the current Covid-19 landscape, this year’s event will be a little different!
Teams will build on Saturday, September 26th, at a location of their choosing.
- Habitat will connect all the build teams through Zoom, and this feed will be live-streamed onto Facebook, with trivia, live music, and event commentary provided by event host Diane Ducey and Habitat staff/volunteers.
- There will be two build categories this year: “Old Dogs” where teams with building/design experience will build a design of their own choosing, and “Young Pups” where teams with little to no building experience will use a pre-cut set of materials and a standard dog house design, but add their own finishing touches and accessories.
- There is a $100 entry fee no matter which category you join. It is a fundraising event after all. Plus we give you all the tools to activate your own fundraising page!
- Houses will be judged by a panel of local “celebrities”, the viewing public, and by the other build teams. Trophies will be awarded to the top teams in both build categories.
All the completed dog houses will then go on display at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore and online store, where the public can buy their favorite!
